Our People

I am the Rector of Westhill Episcopal Church and also a Canon of St Andrew's Cathedral. As well as my role in these areas I also serve as Chaplain to the three Primary schools in Westhill as well as Westhill Academy. I am also an ALPHA advisor for Aberdeenshire. I am married to Heather and we have a teenage son called Daniel.

Heather is an Elder and serves in the Leadership Team of the church. She also leads up our Care in the Community Ministries.

		Ian Forsyth. I am married to Anne and we have three grown up children and three grandchildren. We moved to Westhill in 1984 with my work in the oil industry. I have now retired, but continue as an elder in the church Leadership Team with various overseeing responsibilities. They include the Housegroup Ministry, Children's Ministry, and the Welcome Team. I run the Network course and assist the rector in Leadership Development
		Steve Townsend is married to Jenny. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, where he primarily handles admissions to BSc degree programmes. Steve has oversight responsibility for the All-age Worship Team.
		Peter Hutchison is the Youth Pastor and a member of the leadership team. His responsibilities include: heading up the 11 - 18's youth ministry, primary and secondary schools chaplaincy and local community outreach. Peter is married to Fran and they have two beautiful Bearded Dragon Lizards who provide much entertainment. Peter loves the outdoors and any sport that provides an adrenalin rush. Peter's heart is to see the lives of young people impacted by the good news of Jesus' unconditional love."
		Jill Benstead is one of our elders, and oversees the creche and Focus for women group. She is one of the leaders of the prayer ministry team. She is married to Paul and has 4 children. Katrine, Josh, Dom and Nathaniel.
		Charles Cole I moved to Westhill in 2001 and currently work in the oil industry. I am married to Toyin and we have two daughters. I have a desire to see Christians walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, growing and becoming more like Jesus Christ in all things and being fully equipped for whatever God has called them to do. I currently oversee the Men's ministry and lead the Young Adult's group. I enjoy most sport - particularly football, squash and the odd bit of running.
		Jeremy Burchill - is a Lay Reader who is married to Carolyn and has two daughters studying away from home. In addition to his preaching and teaching ministry he has oversight of Alpha and the Missions Group
